Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery Specialist
Dr. Matthew Hauck is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in cosmetic and reconstructive oculofacial plastic surgery. In addition to a four-year internship and residency in ophthalmology, he spent an additional two years of advanced fellowship training focused exclusively on oculofacial surgery. This means he is uniquely experienced and qualified to perform the following procedures:
- Cosmetic surgery of the areas surrounding the eyes, eyelids and upper face.
- Cosmetic surgery of the lower face and neck.
- Surgical correction of drooping eyelids.
- Surgical correction of sagging forehead and eyebrows.
- Reconstructive surgery following trauma or skin cancer removal.
- Correction of tear duct obstructions and excessive tearing.
- Orbital fracture repair.
- Management of thyroid related orbitopathy.
- Removal of lesions around the eyes.
- Non-surgical facial rejuvenation such as Botox, fillers and laser resurfacing.
Dr. Hauck is the medical director of our Oculoplastics program and Medical Spa. He stays up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques and non-surgical technologies in order to provide the most current, minimally invasive treatments to achieve your goals. His extensive education and training allows Dr. Hauck to work closely with you to formulate an individualized treatment plan that will maximize both functional and aesthetic results. Whether your interest is cosmetic or medical, Dr. Hauck believes in taking a holistic approach to facial rejuvenation, with a team approach to patient care.
Dr. Hauck is accredited by the prestigious American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS). Approximately 20 oculoplastic surgeons are ASOPRS trained per year, and there are about 600 ASOPRS members worldwide. ASOPRS was founded in 1969 to establish a qualified body of surgeons who have training and experience in this highly specialized field. The purpose of ASOPRS is to advance education, research, and the quality of clinical practice in the fields of cosmetic, plastic, and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Hauck is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, written textbook chapters on oculoplastic surgery topics, and given presentations at national professional meetings. He is active in education and training in the field of oculoplastic surgery.
Dr. Hauck believes in sharing his skills with people in need—in our community as well as in underdeveloped regions of the world. He has performed volunteer medical work in both India and South America, and has trained with leaders in the field of oculoplastic surgery.
Prior to being recruited by Medical Eye Center, Dr. Hauck was in private practice in Seattle. In his time away from the office, Matthew enjoys hiking, skiing, and spending time with his family.
